Today, this cooperative has grown to include over 2,000 dedicated farmers who are committed to improving the quality of their coffee and the lives of their communities.

The La Florida Cooperative’s Fair Trade sales have been a catalyst for positive change, funding education, infrastructure, and healthcare initiatives. They have also established the Occupational Learning Center for Sustainable Agriculture, which trains farmers in environmentally-friendly techniques and crop diversification. The coop’s efforts have led to the development of schools, health clinics, portable water systems, and essential infrastructure like roads and bridges, all while continuing to produce award-winning coffee—securing 6th place in Peru’s National Quality Competition in 2005.
